St Walburga

St Walburga; born in Devonshire 710, died at Heidenheim, Germany 777.  She was the daughter of St. Richard, one of the under-kings of the West Saxons, and of Winna, sister of St. Boniface, Apostle of Germany.  She spent 26 years in the monastery at Wimborne.  Then St Bonifice appealed for help with his missionary work and Walburga was chosen to go to Germany.  After some time she was appointed Abbess of Heidenheim.
